Death of Mrs. Joel Brown "Mrs. Joel Brown, 87, Moberly, died about 6:30 o'clock Saturday morning in Whitaker hospital, where she had been a patient more than two years. Mrs. Brown fell in July 1955, sustaining a fractured hip, and had been hospitalized since that time. Mrs. Brown, the daughter of Sarah Dawson and Thomas J. Barker of Monroe County, was well known in Monroe County as a horsewoman, having shown horses at many Paris and Madison fairs. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Moberly. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Clyde Delaney of Moberly; Edgar H. Brown of Glendale, California; Mrs. Carl Comiskey of Lincoln Park, Mich.; and Misses Virginia and Pauline Brown of Chicago, Ill. There are five grandchildren. The body was brought to the Thompson funeral home and Saturday evening she was taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Delaney in Moberly. Services were held Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at the Holliday Christian church with Rev. Pearson and Rev. Westram in charge. Mrs. Pearson was the soloist."
