Article from unknown source with handwritten date of Sep 1964. Extracted from the newspaper article collection started in 1879 by Mrs. Nannie Brown of Madison, Missouri. Mrs. Amanda Noel "Mrs. Amanda Frances Noel, 97, Madison's oldest resident, died at 3:45 o'clock Monday afternoon at her home, where she had resided for the past 60 years. A daughter of the late Robert Hill and Nancy Wood Hill, she was born Nov. 14, 1866, near Duncan's Bridge. She was married to Victor N. Noel, who died in 1923. She was a charter member of the Madison Christian Church and of the CWF and was active in church activities in her younger years. Mrs. Noel also belong to the Madison OES. Surviving are three daughters, Mr. Mosby Davis,of the home; Mrs. Maude Eubank and Mrs. Winnie Baker, Madison; one son, Claude Noel, Moberly; one brother, Charley Hill, Clarence; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Thompson-Mackler Chapel by the Rev. C.W. Cornn, a former pastor of the Madison Christian Church, assisted by the Rev. Robert Leach, present pastor. Member of the Order of Easter Star attended the services in body. Burial was in Sunset Hill Cemetery."
