Lafferty Dies Here After Sudden Illness Madison Mrs. Herman D. Lafferty, 46, near Holliday, died unexpectedly at about 9:15 oclock this morning in Woodland Hospital, Moberly, where she was taken yesterday after becoming ill. Mrs. Lafferty, the former Miss Katherine Quinley, was born on a farm near Holliday, the daughter of Mrs. Margaret Quinley and the late Joe Quinley. Mrs. Lafferty was a bookkeeper for Robertson in north Moberly, where she had been employed 3 ½ years. She is survived by her husband, her mother, a son, Joe, of the home, and a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Ruth Ann) Miller, Kirksville. A brother, Anderson Quinley, Paris, also survives. The body is at the Thompson-Mackler Funeral Home here. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Young Mother Died Unexpectedly Mrs. Herman Lafferty, 46, of north of Madison, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at Woodland Hospital in Moberly, where she had been taken Monday after becoming ill. An internal hemorrhage, the exact nature or cause of which was not known at the time, was given as the cause of her death. Mrs. Lafferty had not been ill, and preparations were being made for possible surgery when her death occurred. Mrs. Lafferty was the former Miss Katherine Quinly, daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Joe Quinly. Surviving her are husband, her mother, one son, Joey, at home, a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Ann Miller, of Kirksville, and one brother, Anderson Quinly, manager of the M.W. Speed Furniture Co., at Paris. She was a niece of Mrs. Daniel Krembs and Mrs. Elmer Key of Paris. Mr. and Mrs. Lafferty moved from Kansas City to the farm near Madison in (1948). Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Madison Christian Church by Rev. john Buck, with burial in the Madison cemetery.
