Harley was the oldest active business head in Paris, and had gone to his sales and electric store every day until his trip to the hospital for treatment. Son of a pioneer Paris businessman, the late Thomas G. Harley, he was born here and had spent his life in Paris. Surviving him are his widow, the former Miss Helen Henning; one son, Thomas Carlyle Harley of Vista, California, one sister, Mrs. John T. Hook of Mexico, and other relatives. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Agnew Funeral home with Rev. Charles Barr, Christian Church pastor, officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove cemetery at Paris."
