I am seeking information on Thomas Whitaker, born about 1889, son of John Edward Whitaker and unknown spouse. John Edward Whitaker was born 22 September 1868, son of Amos Whitaker and Sarah Montague Stevens.  He died 27 June 1943, and is buried in Palmyra, MO.  I have two photos of Thomas, half brother of my Grandfather, John "Orville" Whitaker.  I have a tintype photo of John Edward and the woman we believe was his first wife.  John Edward appears to have spent most of his time in Monroe County, Missouri.  His marriage license filed in Jackson County, Missouri to my Great-grandmother lists both of them as from Howard County, Missouri. John Edward Whitaker's obituary lists no children (he was divorced from my Great-grandmother) and only one brother, Jim Whittaker.  Jim Whittaker signed his death certificate.  John Edward's burial plot was donated by the Tate family (his employer) and he is buried next to Charles R. Tate and Dora A. Tate. My Grandmother told me that John Edward Whitaker was a miner by trade, but I have no proof of that. I also have a photograph that is marked as Lee Whitaker who I believe was the son of Alfred W. Whitaker, John Edward's brother. If anyone has any information on John Edward Whitaker's first wife and his son, Thomas, it would be greatly appreciated. Susan Norine Stice
