We use Judy as our hub and we have networked several family genealogists together through her and she sends us all them info. Works good and whe have made progerss. But for now: James H. Smith and Prudence {McGee} had 9 children, most born in Mercer Co, Ky as follows: Mary, b: abt 1803; James H.M. Smith b: Jan 1806; Prudence b: abt 1808; Ephraim b: abt 1810; George W., b: abt 1814; John b: 1 May 1815; Margaret Ann b: Feb 1817; Hugh b: abt 1820 and Jane b: Feb 1822. Some of the above children stayed in Monroe Co., and some went south to Polk Co., Mo. The James Harvey Smith m; Rosey McKamey mentioned in the query, is the son of another Hugh Smith, brother to the first named James H. Smith. This Hugh Smith died in Mercer Co., Ky abt 1827, married Ann McGee, sister to above Prudence McGee Smith. I believe your John went south to Polk Co., married 1. Martha Looney, 2 Nov 1834 in Greene Co., MO {Greene Co, parent of Polk Co.} Martha Looney Smith died in Aug of 1844 and John m: 2. Nancy Looney Robberson. A bit of confusion comes up when John married a M! artha Looney, as did his brother Hugh, but the Martha Looney's were first cousins. Please contact me at my email address. Judy Smith/Colorado

    3. Hi A large source of leads to family-history data is now on line. It is comprised of the Tables of Contents of the first 22 volumes of the Missouri State Genealogical Association Journal, 1981-2002+. Importantly, below the Tables of Contents, is an index. Reviewers find the whole page easily navigated despite the great amount of data included. A few of the key words with which to search the index are county names, directions (east, south, north, west), and family surnames (for Bible records). Use your browsers search function. When you find interesting leads on the web page, you will probably want to see actual copies of the Journal. Many libraries subscribe to the Journal. There is also information, below the index on the web page, on how to obtain copies of articles or issues. One can get an idea as to the length of an article in the Journal by noting the page numbers where it begins and where the following article begins. However, some articles are serialized over two to four issues. The URL is <http://www.rollanet.org/~bdoerr/contents.htm>http://www.rollanet.org/~bdoerr/contents.htm >

Surnames: Johnson, Peterson, Nelson, Deaver Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/YKB.2ACE/175.1.1.1.1.2 Message Board Post: Rhea, I went by Walnut Grove Cemetery and looked up Peter, Hannah, and Kittie. Peter J. and Hannah K. Johnson are listed on one stone with just birth and death years. The stone is more of a modern type stone and I would guess that it was put there at Peter's death in 1928 or perhaps later. Their daughter Kittie H. has one of those old stones that is very hard to read but I did make out part of it. Her birth month is unreadable but is the 28th day and of course, 1886 like we knew. Her death date is Dec. 21, 1887. Kittie H. is listed on the south facing part of that stone and it appears there is nothing else on the other 3 sides of her pedastal like stone. Here are some names nearby these stones, in case that comes in handy. Morehead Nelson, stone reads "Father", died July 26, 1889. Burgess Nelson, born May 17, 1867, died Sept. 28, 1884. James E. Deaver and Mary E. Deaver, James born Feb. 5, 1865, died Jan. 18, 1953 and Mary E. born Sept. 16, 1876 and died July 9, 1954. I also ran across a marriage for Peter and Hannah in Monroe County, MO on July 1, 1885. Hannah's name is listed as Hannah Peterson.
