C. MEADOR, 88, VETERAN DIES W. C. Meador, aged 88, well known resident of Enon vicinity died at the home of his dau- ghter, Saturday, May 8th, 1932, at 12 o'clock. Death was due to a three weeks influenza and the infirmities of age. "Uncle Bill" as he was lovingly known by his host of friends lived long and well, and was a living example of honesty, sobriety, and neighborliness, endear- ing him in the hearts of all, both young and old. He was alway cheerful and jovial and to meet him was to go on your way a little happier by having gripped his hand, and felt his assur- ance that old time friendship and brotherly love still predominated in at least one heart who had passed the ways in life many times that you must pass. He was born and reared near Russellville, and was twice married to girls of this vicinity, who were sisters, Misses Amos'. To the first union, two daughters and one son was born, the son dying in childhood and one daughter at the age of 18. The wife also passing on in early woman- hood. The wife of the second marriage, preced- ing him in death 3 years. Besides the daughter, Mrs. Fred C. Wyss, with whom he made his home, he is also survived by a foster daughter, Mrs. Gail Weaver, two grandchildren, Mrs. Grace Wirth of Kansas City and Clarence Shadwick of Enon, three great grandchildren and six step grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends in Cole, Moniteau and Miller counties. He was a veteran of the Civil War and altho' a staunch Democrat, was honored by the United States with a liberal pension for many years. He was a member of the Rock Enon Baptist Church from which place services were held Monday at 10 a. m. by Rev. R. L. Hood, who had served the deceased as Pastor 40 years ago. Interment was made in the Enloe Cemetery. wives were Mary Rebecca Amos and her sister Eliza J. Amos born 15 Feb. 1855 - 8 April, 1929 William C. Meador 17 Sept. 1843 - 7 May, 1932 Rosa C. Meador 25 August, 1869 - 20 August, 1887
