James You just made my day about Laura Louella Johnston marrying William Benjamin Bagby. You know... I've been seeing listings for the Bagbys and the Hutchinsons and thinking.. what the heck is this? So here's the deal: Laura's parents are William H. Johnston and Sarah Ann Davis -- William's father is Robert C. Johnston -- who is the brother of William H. Johnston who married Margaret Hutchinson...who then married Nathaniel Leonard at Ravenwood in Bunceton. Robert and William's father was named Capt. William H. Johnston... and I missed entirely information on the Capt.'s parents. Robert Johnston and Margaret Peggy McClanahan. The McClanahans are big time intermarried in this family. I swear they are all cousins... William Hutchison's daughter Eliza married David McClanahan Hickman -- who was her cousin... yuck. Any way... I have the Boone Co. listing for Robert that your email helped me put together... Johnston, Robert -- Adm. Joel Prewitt, [Robert's wife's father] Gr. Feb 12, 1833, Final settlement, May 1837; Heirs: Mary Ann [Prewitt] Johnston widow; Joel William Johnston, Nancy Elizabeth Johnston, Robert Thomas Johnston and William Henry Johnston heirs. So the William Henry Johnson above is the one who married Sarah Ann Davis...and their daughter Laura Louella Johnston married William Benjamin Bagby. Wow... and I didn't know that the Capt.
