Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XKB.2ACE/770 Message Board Post: John Koechner,62 years of age,a life long resident of this community passed away Monday afternoon at one o'clock at the home of a son,Fred Koechner,3 miles south of Tipton. Funeral services largely attended,were held from St.Andrews Catholic Church at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning,the pastor Rev.Father John Motzdorf officiating.Interment followed the church services in the Catholic church.Casket bearers were:Joseph and John Claas,Herman & Thomas Hartman,T.W.Lutz and Martin Battles.On April 23,1901 Mr.Koechner married Miss Laura Hainen,the couple residing on their farm east of Tipton.Eight children were born to the union,3 passing in infancy.Besides the wife the following children survive:John A.,Peter W.,Arthur,Fred Koechner all of this community and Miss Helen Hainen of California.Besides 2 grandchildren,the following 4 sisters and 3 brothers survive:Sister M.Gertrude,St.Josephs hospital,Boonville.Mrs.Ellen Steimel,Poicahontas,Ark.Mrs.Peter Lutz and Mrs.Frank Vogel,both of Wright Kansas.Henry Koechner of dodge City,Ks. and Andrew Koechner of Tipton,Missouri.The deceased had been a member for many years of the St.Andrews Benevolent Society! .He was noted for his integrity & honesty and was highly respected by all who knew him.
