    1. [MOMONITE] BLM Land Records Site is Back!
    2. Hello Everyone, The Benton Co AR list reported that the Bureau of Land Management's General Land Offce Records site is back up, including a new miscellaneous search feature including options for dates and land office. To search under additional criteria, after you identify your state at the "Basic" search tab, click the "Standard" tab to search by county and/or location, etc. The URL is: http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/ Remember once you find the location (Section, Range, Township) you can search for some possible neighbors by finding the names of everyone who purchased a land grant in your ancestor's section and all surrounding sections (you won't have all of them, of course, because local deed land sales aren't involved. It's also possible to make a rough distinction between members of families with a popular surname (ie, Williams, Smith, etc.). AND, if you have later information from probate documents, etc., on land locations for your ancestors, you can find the original purchasers, and so on. Good Luck! Janet (Baugh) Hunter
