William and his wife were born in Tennessee and North Carolina in about 1800 and lived in Cocke County, TN before moving to Moniteau County, MO. I have some data that says William died shortly after the 1850 census. I found them in the 1850 census in District 58 page 60. Listed are William age 45 farmer born in Tenn. Rosanna age 47 born North Carolina. Harriett age 20 born in Tenn. Robert age 16 born in MO. Joseph age 14 born in MO. Andrew age 7 born in MO. Edwin age 5 born in MO. Louisa age 2 born in MO. IN the 1860 census I found Rosanna and Louisa alone. There were two older brothers George Washington Jackson and William Jackson. William married Martha Jane Bruce 20 Feb 1845 and moved to Putnam County and became a state legislator in 1854 to 1861. Had six children and Martha died. He remarried and moved to California where he die! d in 1912. George married Sarena Vaughn of Moniteau County. Any help with locations of death or burial would be appreciated. Also any help with ideas of how to find them. I plan to be in Moniteau county in September 2002.
