    3. Hey Everyone: Thanks to the transcription efforts of Freda Acuff -- the Boone Co slave schedules are finally online {I've been the hold up -- she transcribed them months ago.} Thanks very much Freda!! facuff@mail.win.org You will find a number of slave schedules and other related data on my website: http://www.missouri-slave-data.org/slaveinfo.html If you have sent me a link to a slave schedule and I haven't added it.. or you know of one that should be added.. please let me know. If there's a dead link on my page.. BUG ME! I get lots of email.. and I get busy, overwhelmed and distracted because besides having 3 little ones...I am a community activist and we've been busy bugging the hell out of City Hall these days!! Anyway -- the links need to be cleaned up a bit and beautified... converting from Word to Html takes a little patience -- the dog gon' columns are a pain the rear end to get lined up evenly. So in the next couple of days I'll add some color etc. to the pages and work on getting the numbers to line up. If any of you are faster at applying rows and columns and wanna take a turn at upgrading the pages-- please feel free. If you have a link to a will, obit, probate record etc., let me know so can hook them up accordingly. If you have a hard copy of wills, probate etc., for anyone noted on the slave schedules, you can email, fax or mail me data... I'll be happy to scan it. If you can scan yourself... go for it. A .jpg file works just fine for me. Now.. some of you will recognize that some of the surnames are spelled incorrectly... please help me out by letting me know.. or sending me any slave related data that you may have for the surnames noted. Here's why knowing the families and slave schedules work for African American research. For example, I recently have collected some documentation on the Hutchinson, Hickman and Johnston families -- and discovered that Eli Bass married into the Hickman family. Eli's [largest slave owner in Boone Co] son William married Irene Hickman -- cousin to the Margaret Hutchinson who married Nathaniel Leonard at Ravenswood. For me... I need to make all the familial connections I can. By the way -- Irene Hickman's father was William Hickman -- son of David Hickman and Clara McClanahan. William Hickman's sister Margaret "Peggy" Hickman married William Hutchinson; their daughter Margaret Hutchinson first married William H. Johnston and second Nathaniel Leonard who founded Ravenswood. When Mr. Johnston died; most of his slaves went to Margaret's 2nd husband Nathaniel Leonard..those folks were my ancestors. Margaret Hutchinson Johnston Leonard's brother James Hutchinson married Martha V. Tutt -- the other line who owned my ancestors. Some of the folks in this line of my family changed their surname to MILES. Some still took the TUTT surname. Another tickler: William H. Johnston's [Margaret's 1st husband] sister Eliza Keller Johnston married Capt. David McClanahan Hickman -- brother to William Hickman and Margaret Hickman Hutchinson... above. hahahah. Crazy isn't it... but it works.I've tracked ties in these families in Cooper, Boone, Howard, Callaway and Morgan Counties... and PITTSBURG, PA. Isn't that something??? If anyone has already transcribed or is interested in transcribing the 1840 and/or 1850 slave schedules for Boone Co., please let me know. I have 1850 Cooper in hard copy from --but have been unable to get to it. Same goes for 1860 Moniteau and Morgan. I would be really happy to get volunteers to transcribe Howard Co slaves and Callaway County slave schedules. Here's what's up now... sorry for the crooked numbers.. but I'm getting a headache from messin' with it.
