Nelson July 7, 1862 slaves owned: Amos, 35 years, Robert 20 years, Betty 44 years, woman 45, woman 21, sons (?) 11, boy 4. Estate of Michael McGuire July 20, 1862 a boy man Estate of Winston Walker Henry a man 25 years old, Francis a woman, 47 years old, Anne a woman 21 years old, Jane a woman 19 years old, Catharine a woman 17 years old, Brigette a girl 14 years old, Hudson a girl 2 years old, Charles a boy 7 years old. Appraisement of the estate of Alfred T. Wilson, to my son George G., My wife Sophronia Ferrel...Recorded August 20, 1855 [these slaves like the others listed are appraised in the estate -- I don't know who bought them etc., -- I need to get the wills to figure that out.] First slave listed I can't read the name? Cliford? negro man 30 years, Bob negro man 25 years, Isham negro man 25 years, negro man Pete 24 years, negro woman Caroline aged 26 years, negro woman Cleary aged 15 years, negro woman Isabelle aged 17 years, a negro girl Molly aged 4 and negro girl Emily aged 3 years... Estate of William Phillips inventoried on 11th day of October 1855 - -notes he purchased land from James Kelly.. slaves listed: negro man named Rolly, negro man Zay Gracy [?], woman Martha, girl named Mary, girl named Emily. Estate of James McCutcheon April 27, 1854 slaves listed: Jane a woman 27 years, Mahala a woman 24 years, William [?] a boy 8 years, Henry a boy 4 years, Norris a boy 2 years, Harriett a girl 5 years, Ellen and girl 2 years and Rose a girl 1 year. Estate of James Ormrod -- was married to Eliza Ann Hickman inventory recorded Sept. 30, 1850 Negro man Jake aged about 32 years. Jesse B. Smiley [hope this is correct] died March 19th, 1862 -- I think its Smiley cause there is a Stannard Webb as a witness.. and I know WEBB and SMILEY families have ties, slaves listed: Joseph, Abby, Caroline, Green, John, Henry, Albert, Mary, Catharine, Eliza, Belle. As it turns out my final settlement and inventory records microfilm has a whole lot more listings than I first thought... but the film is harder than hell to read. I will try to post sketches of what I find in case there is something to help others. Thanks
