Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XKB.2ACE/496.500.2.1 Message Board Post: I think that Hardshell Baptist was another name for Primitive Baptist groups. One set of my grandparents in Morgan Co, MO were of that faith. Apparently there were also Primitive Baptist groups in Cooper & Moniteau Co, MO, also, although I am not personally familiar with them or exactly where they were. The denomination is still active although small and has started a history project online. Check out http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/pbl.html to see their home page. Although Moniteau Co is listed, they don't have anything online about it yet but perhaps a query to their library about specific names and locations might get a response. Good Luck! Jerry

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XKB.2ACE/496.500 Message Board Post: I'm not sure which church was connected to Enon Cemetery, however I am aware of two churches in or near Enon. There was the Enon Number 2 Baptist Church, sometimes called Enon Station located in the extreeme southeast corner of Moniteau County. It's all very confusing. There was also Rock Enon Baptist Church which my mother attended as a chld. There was a small cemetary located behind one of the original Enon churches, but it was later moved because a creek ran through it. A new Enon cemetery was created from land donated by James Morrow. The present Enon Baptist Church was named so in 1951. Some of my Wyss relatives were founding members. Hope this helps.
