Thank you for posting this obit. I am wondering about the Enloe Cemetery. Is there another Enloe/ Murray connection? Did you know that Thomas Clinton Murray's (he was the s/o Thomas and Rachel) descendants married into the Enloe family? Actually, two of his daughters did. Enoch Enloe and Hugh S. Enloe were brothers who married the Murray sisters. Enoch and Hugh S. were the sons of James McCord Enloe and Nancy Simpson; James and Nancy were also buried in this cemetery. Do you know where I could do a bit more research on who is buried in this cemetery? I am wondering if there are some other Murrays buried there. Thank you, Debra Anderson

Classification: Military Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XKB.2ACE/731.1.1 Message Board Post: Sorry, Dyer's volumes do not include unit rosters. To explain my query, on August 20, 1861 there was an attack at Lookout Station (now Centertown) in western Cole County on a train transporting "Home Guards from Tipton and California to Jefferson City." While this implies they were Moniteau County men, two members of the Benton County Home Guards German Regiment are listed in Mo Adjutant General's records as killed in the incident. Thus if the Moniteau Co Home Guards were disbanded before that date, those at Tipton and California must have been from the Benton County unit, which included men from Morgan and Pettis Counties. I scanned the 1890 Union Vets census of Moniteau Co thinking there would be survivors of the Moniteau Co unit listing dates, but found none. However, perhaps you would find the names you seek there. Do you have any vitals on these gentlemen or their wives? Also have you found any more on John Reed as being John Riley's father? Is there any proof on the Cherokee indian adoption of John Riley?? I would love to hear from you soon!! I am so excited to finally break through that wall !!!!
