Then they hooked up after their spouses died. Any ideas? Thanks again! Trish

    1. [MOMONITE] Robert A. Wilson
    2. Traci Wilson-Kleekamp
    3. Elizabeth I interested in Robert A. Wilson... his mother (Mary Black?) I believe married Joseph Byler.. a second or third marriage. In Morgan Co., his farm was located adjacent to Lot Howard and John McClanahan. Versailles is the same spot I'm interested in... I've been trying to get a handle on the WILSON family in Morgan for some time... my ancestors somehow picked up that surname. What I realized is the my Wilson ancestor somehow hooked up with the Patterson family -- who in 1860 in Cooper Co., lived with Penelope Byler. The Bylers as far as a I can tell had a WILSON and a HOWARD connection... SMILEY too. There is a book out on the BYLERS that discusses these ties to an extent by I have been unable to get a copy of the book. The children you mention sound like they may have a connection to the Robert A. Wilson above. My notes from the 1860 census for Robert Wilson are: Wilson, Robert 41 Wilson, Mary 39 [Alabama] Wilson, Wm. H. 19 Wilson, John C. 18 Wilson, Mary E. 15 Wilson, Joseph A. 13 Wilson, James D 11 Wilson, Harriet 9 Wilson, Lizzie E. 4 Wilson, Robert 5/12 Actually -- I think these WILSONS connect to the family of Henry Wilson from Bourbon CO., KY. Not sure.. but since your Wilsons are in the same area.. I'm curious.. if the Lizzie above is your Elizabeth? traci wilson-kleekamp deboz wrote: > > My Wilson side of the family were living in Versailles area of Morgan County > in 1860. 1. Cemeteries -- Re: [MOMONITE] 1840/1850s WILLIAMS Lookup Marriage Request
    2. Alan, Looking at your email (below) I think that you have the two different Williams cemeteries combined into one?? There is a Moniteau Cemetery book at DAR, and my recollection that the only marked graves fitting the children I am looking for are the Williams Cemetery with C.P. on James Williams' land (Section 17, Township 45, Range 15) are: WILLIAMS, C. P. born 1819, Nov. 15 - Nov - 1886 Jul 07 WILLIAMS, James 1827 Dec 13 - 1891 Aug 16 Williams cem Possibly -- WILLIAMS, John 1808 Jul 02 - 1888 Jul 07 Williams cem (Williams, Lydia at Old Salem Baptist is the wife of the son Ira Williams. According to the cemetery book I viewed, Ira Williams is also buried there, with a 1854 death date (no month or year)). Perhaps someone on the list has the cemetery book, which I need to consult again also. The other Williams (Celmira, Evan J., G.W. Jane Jones, Isaac, John D. Julotta, Mary Ann, Sally Riggs, Thomas J's) you have noted in a Williams Cemetery belong to descendants of Thomas Jefferson Williams, whose will and related documents can be found at the county website here: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/mo/moniteau/legal/tjwilliams.txt Bernadine are you out there??? to confirm this. 1. [MOMONITE] 1840/1850s WILLIAMS Lookup Marriage Request
    2. Hello Everyone, Having obtained a copy of his probate file, this is a followup question to my earlier postings (pasted below) on my 4g grandfather James Williams, d. intestate Oct/Nov 1842 in Moniteau (then Cole) Co Missouri, leaving widow Susannah, d. ca 1850 (unknown maiden name) and 11 children: John, wife Betsy unk, administrator of the estate; Thomas L..wife Franky MURRELL, mine (Cocke Co TN 1842, but was at estate sale Dece 1842); Mary, wife of Joseph HENRY with daughter Susan married Buckner JOBE, and best friend of Thomas L. Williams; Nancy, wife of Samuel BIRD with daughter Susan married Abraham JOBE Elizabeth, wife of Charles ROSS (Cooper Co 1842); Commodore Perry (C.P.), wife Ellen/Eleanor unk; **** Ira, wife, Lydia JOBE James, wife Sarah JOBE (father either Abraham or Elisha????)*** William, wife Winiford unk****** Susan Louisa, husband ? ****** Tabitha, husband ?? ****** I believe Tabitha may have died before 1846 as she is not included in the round of deeds mentioned below, but she could have been too young and a deed shows up later that I haven't found. FYI, Drs "invoice" in probate suggests James Williams died possibly of pneumonia or similar lung disease. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could look in Moniteau Co records (possibly Cole) and find marriage information for the above asterisked individuals. I have the date for Ira Williams marriage to Lydia Jobe, and I believe all the preceding individuals were married in Cocke Co TN, or possibly Sevier as the family lived near the border. Both counties are "burned", and being in East Tennessee have no census records remaining for the period before 1830. Note again this family is separate from that of the "other" James Williams and Susannah Webb, also from Sevier/Cocke Co, but thank goodness they (a) had children with different names and (b) died much later in Moniteau Co. When I get a chance I will provide a list of those individuals who purchased items at the estate sale in December of 1842, and some other items of interest in the settlement. Footnote for Moniteau County researchers -- I wasted (but such is the norm for this type of research) some $$$ renting Cole County films. Even though this estate was finally settled in 1844, before Moniteau Co was created, I finally found the probate file in the Moniteau Co probate microfilms. I would imagine some of you old hands of Moniteau Co research are aware of this My best regards, Janet (Baugh) Hunter Subj:Fwd: Williams & Jobes Moniteau Co MO Date:3/9/2002 9:55:52 PM Eastern Standard Time From:jleehunt1 To:jleehunt1 ----------------- Forwarded Message: Subj:Williams & Jobes Moniteau Co MO Date:2/11/2002 2:28:09 PM Eastern Standard Time From: jleehunt1@aol.com To: JOBE-L@rootsweb.com Surnames in this post -- Williams, Jobe, Murrell, Henry, Bird, Ross, McKissack, Yowes, Sailings. Hello Everyone, I am new to this list, although I have been in touch with other Jobe researchers, but have just come into some new information on my Williams family and hoping anew to find some other researchers of my Williams family from TN, which consisted of nine children (I believe) of James Williams, d. about 1840 Cole Co, and his wife Susannah/Susan Louisa, d. abt 1850 in Moniteau (see her will at end). At least two of these children married Jobes, and at least two of the grandchildren did. FYI, I have gone through the list archives and duly noted the OTHER James and Susannah (Webb) Williams, also with Jobe connections. I assume from Ann Jobe Brown's World Connect Website that the children she has for that James and Susannah Webb Williams are based on the "bible records" found...and these are two separate families, though they come from the same area of ETN (Cocke, Sevier, Greene, etc.), and may be connected also. Based on nine consecutive deeds in Moniteau Co Deed Book D beginning about page 96, I found the following ALL being paid $25 by CP Williams (Commodore Perry) and renouncing their rights to three tracts of land in Section 17, of Township 45, Range 15 -- to which they were entitled as the heirs and legatees of James Williams deceased. Now it could be, but I doubt, that they are James' nieces and nephews, and I've ordered a Cole Co microfilm, but thought I'd submit this. Unfortunately none of the deeds had witnesses. The wives/husbands all renounced their rights, dower or otherwise. The location of the land is the same location where the Williams Cemetery is -- where CP and brother James are buried. Here are the individuals/couples on the deeds, which weren't presented until about ten years later at Moniteau Co courthouse (though they could have been registered in Cole before then) -- Charley Ross and Elizabeth (Williams) Ross signed 21 April 1843. Elizabeth was born about 1809 -- Samuel Bird and Nancy (Williams) Bird, signed 17 January 1843. Their daughter Susan married an Abraham Jobe (per Alan Sparks at Bird genforum). Nancy was born about 1817. -- Joseph Henry and Mary (Williams) Henry, signed 17 January 1843. Their daughter Susan married Buckner Jobe, daughter of Abraham and Margaret Yewes. Mary was born about 1815 -- John Williams and Betsy (maiden name??) Williams, signed 13th January 1843. I haven't found John in a census record -- My line -- Thomas Williams and Franky (Murrell) Williams, signed 13 January 1844 (they moved from Cocke Co about this time). Thomas was born August 1810. He died in Dade Co Missouri 1888, is buried at Shiloh Cemetery on the Lawrence Co line. -- Ira Williams and Lydia (JOBE) Williams, signed January 17, 1843. She was daughter of Abraham Jobe and Margaret YEWES/YOWES. Ira was born abt 1821 -- Susan Louisa Williams, signed with William MCKISSACK, 18 August 1846 (I think she was the wife of James deceased and am wondering if she might possibly be a McKissack?) ADDENDUM June 2002, the probate record makes clear she was a daughter, not the widow Susannah. Both are named. -- James Williams (no wife at deed) signed 23 day February 1849, married Sarah JOBE. Conflicting information on her parents -- yet another child of Abraham Jobe and Margaret Yewes/Yowes (World Connect) OR Elisha and Elizabeth Jobe, Williams Cemetery listing?? James was born about 1827 -- William Williams and wife Winiford (maiden name unknown) signed 13 February 1843. I think he may be the William Williams, without wife, in the household of brother James in 1850 census. He was born about 1821 NOTE, I have not found a father James Williams in East Tennessee in 1830 who has a family that fits the above birthdates, based on census records. I have found Charles Ross in Cocke Co in 1830. I also didn't find James Williams in 1830 in Cole Co. online census images, but they were very hard to read. My line is Thomas L. Williams and Franky MURRELL, who are in 1840 Cocke Co TN, 1850 Kaufman Co TX census (anybody else go there beside some Moniteau HOWARDs..parent Henderson Co?) and in 1860 Benton Co Arkansas, next door to Joseph Henry and other Henrys and living close by some YOWES. In 1870 and 1880 they are in Dade Co Missouri, but as noted above, practically on the county line with Lawrence Co. There are more contacts for these families down the line, especially Sailings (some of whom end up in Benton Co AR also) but I don't have descendant information for any but my own lines. Joseph Henry's daughter apparently went back to Moniteau Co to get married, as his probate records are found in Benton Co AR, and confirm the daughter Susan Jobe is in Moniteau Co. I haven't seen the above Williams with Jobe connections linked at the website, as those of the Other James and Susannah (Webb) Williams are. As soon as I get the probate records for James from Cole Co (which supposedly include a will), I will pass them along. In the meantime I thought I'd go look for cousins interested in tracking down Williams in the two very burned counties of Sevier & Cocke Co TN (though we can pray for Washington, Greene, Grainger & HAwkins perhaps?) The will of Susannah Williams follows. I believe that she is the wife of James Williams, dec'd whose estate is the cause of the above deeds. I also have found her probate records, inventory, etc. but will have to go back to the FHC to copy them. ADDENDUM June 12 -- I was unable to copy her probate files, but do have some settlement notes. My best regards, Janet (Baugh) Hunter Page 41, Will Book 1 Moniteau County State of Missouri In the name of God Amen, I Susannah Williams being weak of body yet well in mind and intellect do make this my last Will and Testament (viz) Item; 1st It is my will and desire that after my death and after my just debts are paid that all my children have one dollar each out of my effects and that the remainder of my property be equally divided between my two sons James and William signed this September ninth day one thousand eight hundred and forty eight in the presence of Witnesses Susannah (X) Williams Dedrick Yows Reuben Jobe Proven 18th April 1850
