    3. The Iberia Sentinel, March 1930 James Barlow, one of our aged and well known citizens, died on Wednesday evening, March 26, 1930, at his home west of Iberia. The end came rather suddenly, he having been in as good health as common a short time before his death. He was born June 9, 1853, being 76 years, 9 months and 17 days old at the time of his death. On March 6, 1871, he was united in marriage to Margaret Sortors and to this union nine children were born, five sons and four daughters, one daughter having died in infancy. His wife preceded him to the Great Beyond several years ago. The surviving children are Mrs. A.M. Goforth of Waynesville, Mrs. Chas. Bond, Mrs. Perry Bond, Tom, Jet and Andy of Iberia, and John and Dave of Crocker. Mr. Barlow spent his entire life around Iberia, living at the home where he died for 46 years. He was a hard worker, a good neighbor and a friend to everybody. Funeral services were held at Hickory Point, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E.G. Giggy, pastor of the Iberia Methodist Church. Interment was made in the cemetery at that place under direction of Adams & Casey local undertakers.
