The Iberia Sentinel, March 1935 The home of Mr. and Mrs. Rolla Wall of the Hickory Point community west of Iberia was saddened last Sunday morning when death claimed their ten-year-old son, Clate Ellis. The little fellow took seriously ill only a few days before and attending physicians pronounced his case as cerebrospinal meningitis. Clate Ellis was born December 8, 1924; died March 10, 1935, being at the time of his death, 10 years, three months and two days old. He leaves to mourn his passing, mother, father, two brothers-Kenneth and Gerald; four sisters-Glennis, Phyllis, Geraldine and Loeta, besides a host of other relatives and friends. Adams & Casey, Iberia funeral directors had charge of the funeral and burial services. Interment was made in the Hickory Point Cemetery Tuesday morning and brief services conducted by a few intimate friends of the family were held at the grave. The entire community is grieved over the untimely death of such a bright youth and extends deep sympathy to the bereaved parents, brothers and sisters.
