    3. The Iberia Sentinel, September 1936 Funeral services for Mrs. John W. Adcock, who died at Eldon Tuesday morning of last week, were conducted at the Eldon Christian Church at 2:00 p.m. Thursday by the pastor, Rev. A.L. Alexander; then a brief service was held at the Tuscumbia Christian Church at 3:30 and burial was in the Tuscumbia Cemetery with the Phillips Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements. Ida Mae Thomson, daughter of Daniel Frazer and Catherine Melton Thomson, was born in Miller County January 12, 1873. She was married to John William Adcock May 28, 1899, by the Rev. G.L. Thompson. To this union three children were born, Mrs. Ray Dunnaway of Eldon, John F. Adcock of Eldon and Helen Adcock, who preceded her mother in death March 19, 1919. Mrs. Adcock united with the Christian Church at Spring Garden early in life and was baptized by her uncle, the Rev. J.H.D. Thompson. She later transferred her membership to the Tuscumbia Christian Church and on moving to Eldon she and Mr. Adcock united with the First Christian Church. Besides the husband and two children, Mrs. Adcock is survived by two sisters and one brother, Mrs. George G. Sullivan of St. Louis, Mrs. J.M. Kallanbach of Jefferson City and Dr. T.F. Thomson of Tuscumbia. Mrs. Adcock was a good woman who stood high in the estimation of her associates and those who knew her best. She was a devoted wife and mother, careful of her influence and a neighbor whose character and friendship was always dependable. Because of the fact that her father was prominent in newspaper and political work she became well known in the county and made many friends long before she came to Eldon where she has been active in church work.
