According to the obituary below, Mrs Lucy Ann Lilly 1861-1935 and Mrs Nancy Catherine Wall 1859-1947 were sisters, and according to their death certificates both were the daughters of Nathan Blankenship 1829-1929; Nancy Catherine b Sep 6 1859 in Maries Co and Lucy Ann b Aug 1 1861. I have been unable to find Nathan at the 1860 Census. In 1870 Nathan Blankenship 34 b Ky was in Lafayette Twp, Clinton Co Mo; with wife Sarah 31 and children Mary 12; John 10 and Clarinda 4. No trace of Nancy Catherine or Lucy Ann. According to De Vere Whitaker's detailed research into the Blankenship families, Nathan Blankenship married Barbara Ann Anderson in 1856, yet in all the census returns 1880-1910, Nathan's wife was called Sarah. This was confirmed on Nathan's death certificate Feb 11 1929. At the 1910 Census Nathan & Sarah declared that they had been married for 55 years and that they had raised 4 children. Have I got the right Nathan? Any offers? If I'm looking at the same census records you are, this must be a different Nathan Blankenship because the children don't match up. This Nathan and Sarah had Mary H., John, Clarinda A. and Robert. He died in Buchanan County in 1929. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Paddy Buckley Sent: Monday, November 17, 2008 6:19 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [MOMILLER] Blankenship/Lilly - obituary According to the obituary below, Mrs Lucy Ann Lilly 1861-1935 and Mrs Nancy Catherine Wall 1859-1947 were sisters, and according to their death certificates both were the daughters of Nathan Blankenship 1829-1929; Nancy Catherine b Sep 6 1859 in Maries Co and Lucy Ann b Aug 1 1861.
