Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1974: " Joseph Koehne, 71, retired farmer, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1974, at a Jefferson City nursing home. Mr. Koehne was born Dec. 4, 1902, at St. Elizabeth, the son of Casper and Anna Werscai Koehne. He was married Oct. 7, 1930, at Meta to Cecelia Fine, who survives. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church at Folk and married men's sodality. Other survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Albert Scheppers, Jefferson City; one brother, Leo Koehne, St. Elizabeth; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Fennewald, Meta; and Mrs. Wm. Strumph (sp??), St. Elizabeth; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Folk with the Rev. Hugh Behan and Rev. James Wieberg officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery,."
