Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1971: "Mrs. Viola E. Lee, 87, a resident of the Iberia community for more than 65 years, died Wednesday, May 5, 1971, at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville. Funeral services fro Mrs. Lee will be held Friday, May 7, at the First Baptist Church of Iberia. Mrs. Lee was born June 18, 1883 in Maries County near Dixon, the daughter of the late William H. and Irene (Atwell) Scott. On Jan. 25, 1905, she was married in Miller County to Pleasant Oliver Lee who preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1962. Mrs. Lee had lived on the same farm in the Iberia area since her marriage. She had been a member of the first Baptist Church of Iberia for more than 40 years. She also was a member of the Sunshine Circle, WPFA Club and Hancock Friendship Club. She is survives by two sons, Wayne Lee and James Mert Lee, both of Iberia; one daughter, Mrs. Daphne Kehr of Alto Pass, Ill.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one brother, Mert Scott of Kansas City. The Rev. Grady Etheridge will officiate at the services Friday. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pall bearers will be James Lee, Bill Montell, James Spears, Sherman Denton, Louie Martin and Gene Martin."
