Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, December 1968 " William J. Luetkemeyer, 74, of St. Elizabeth, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 4, 1968 at his home. He was born December 19,1893, near Tuscumbia, the son of Anton and Anna Massman Luetkemeyer. He was married may 6, 1919 in St. Elizabeth to the former Miss Emma E. Schwieterman, who survives. Mr. Luetkemeyer was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth. He also belonged to the Holy Name Society of that parish. He was a member of the 20-60 Club and also served on the board of directors of the St. Elizabeth Misouri Farmers Association for more than 32 years. A retired farmer, he moved to St. Elizabeth in 1954. Other survivors include: Three sons - William A. Luetkemeyer of St. Elizabeth, Victor Luetkemeyer of Eldon, and Alfred Luetkemeyer of St. Elizabeth; four daughters - Mrs. Mildred Evers of St. Louis, Mrs. Irene Berkel of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Margie Juergensmeyer of California, and Sister Brenda, S. S. N. D. of Breese, Illinois; one brother - Joseph Luetkemeyer of Lake Ozarks; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Hoer of 339 Walnut Street and Mrs. Agnes Schauwecker of Chicago, Illinois and 34 grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, December 7th at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth. Burial was in the parish cemetery."
