Obituary - Jefferson City News/Post Tribune, 4/23/2000: "Augusta M. Kempker, 88, Marys Home, died April 21, 2000, at St. Marys Health Center. She was born Oct. 13, 1911, in Eugene, a daughter of Herman and Mary Doerhoff Schulte. She was married April 26, 1932, in Marys Home, to Jacob H. Kempker, who died Dec. 17, 1960. A member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society, she was a cook at the Marys Home School. Survivors include: four daughters, Linda Bax, Janice Kliethermes, Sally Klindt and Kathryn Lea, all of Eugene; one son, James H. Kempker, Eugene; four brothers, Otto Schulte, Columbia, Fred Schulte, Henley, Elmo Schulte, Eldon, and Herman Schulte, Marshall; two sisters, Lois Motley, Laddonia, and Viola Steenburgen, Boise, Idaho; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Ann Jurgensmeyer, preceded her in death. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. The Rev. Clarence Wiederholt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Marys Home, with a rosary at 3 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Friendship House, 601 E. High St., Jefferson City, Missouri. 65101."
