Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper - 1968: " Miss Marlene Emma Luetkemeyer, age 20 years, of Rt. 1, Tuscumbia, passed away Sunday, Sept. 1, (1968) of injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Hwy. 52. She was born May 14, 1948 in Tuscumbia, the daughter of Bernard J. and Lucy Oligschlaeger Luetkemeyer. Miss Luetkemeyer attended St. Elizabeth grade and high school, and graduated in 1966. She was presently entering her junior year at the University of Missouri, where she was enrolled in the school of education. She also worked in the Cole County Extension Office. Marlene was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth and the Altar Society. Preceding her in death was her father on July 15, 1954 and one sister, Dorothy, at age 2 years. In addition to her mother, she is survived by 6 sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Beck of Kansas City, Mrs. Mary Ann Beaver of St. Louis, Mrs. Carolyn Johnston of St. Louis, Mrs. Janice Hake of Jefferson City, and Kathleen and Julie Luetkemeyer of the home; seven brothers, Bernard C. Luetkemeyer of Meta, Anton, Richard, Lawrence and Patrick Luetkemeyer, all of St. Louis, and Gerald and Michael Luetkemeyer of Tuscumbia. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 4, at the St. Lawrence Catholic church in St. Elizabeth with the Rev. Ferdinand Bonn and Rev. John Walsh officiating. Stevinson Funeral Home of St. Elizabeth was in charge. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
