Unknown Publication, Jun 1922 Little Lois Marie Martin, aged 4 years, 8 months and 28 days, the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. G.M. Martin, died at her home in Iberia, Saturday night, June 17, after a three weeks' illness of typhoid fever. Thus over a happy home the shadows of grief have been thrown by her departure. This baby life was so precious, so fraught with blessings to her parents, brothers and sisters that she seemed a flower of paradise permitted to bloom for a brief season by their side then recalled by the all-wise Father, leaving the earth road for them dark and lonely indeed. Death it seems is a hard master. It takes from us our brightest and best, but it cannot even mar memory. The memory of little Lois' babyhood life while with us will serve as a balm to our wounded hearts. Impressive funeral services were held from the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon, June 18, at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W.S. Birge, pastor of the Baptist Church, in the presence of a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. After the services at the church the little body was conveyed to the town cemetery and there laid to rest.
