The Iberia Sentinel, April 1924 George Cofer, age 80 years, a well-know citizen of the Alder Springs neighborhood, died last Sunday afternoon of apoplexy. The body was taken to Jamestown, Morgan County, the former home of the deceased, Monday by Clarence Casey of the Adams & Casey undertaking firm of this place, accompanied by John Cofer, son of the deceased. Interment was made in the family burying ground at Jamestown Tuesday. Mr. Cofer came to Miller County about fourteen years ago and for a number of years owned and resided on the farm now owned by Rev. Wm. Sooter. A few years ago he bought a farm near Alder Springs where he resided until his death. He is survived by a wife and two sons, John of Iberia and Joe of Jamestown, Mo.
