    3. Unknown Publication, March 1918 Lizzie Augusta Adcock, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Caloway Wyrick, was born April 31, 1884, died March 19, 1918, age 34 years, 11 months, 11 days. She was united in marriage to Ira Adcock Sept. 1900; to this union were born 10 children, 7 boys Calvin, Ralph, Arley, Stanley, William and Homer. Girls: Effie and Verry. Calvin, the oldest boy and two infant girls preceded her to the spirit land. She confessed faith in Christ, united with the Christian Church on the morning of March 19th and died in the evening of the same day. Lizzie was born and raised near Tuscumbia, Miller Co. Mo., where she has a great many relatives and friends. She had the reputation in the neighborhood I which she lived and died as being a good neighbor and tender hearted woman. Some 3 or 4 years ago she became afflicted with lung trouble, lost her health, received treatment but all efforts failed. And in the evening of the 19th she quietly and peacefully passed out without a struggle. Before she died she called for her children; the relatives presented the little group of 7; she gave them a mother's last farewell look. These poor little children have no mother now. Their dear mother went away. (balance of sentiments omitted here) Among those left to mourn her loss is the husband, children, father and four sisters, Elvia Crismon, Melvia Lawson, Engie Weitz, Sarah Thompson, and Joseph, a brother. The funeral was conducted by the writer at the Mt. Zion Church in the presence of a very large congregation who had gathered there to pay their last tribute of respect, so justly due the departed. (sermon portion of obituary omitted here). Without acting on the advice of any one the writer called for a freewill offering. The good people willingly responded to the call by contributing $22.79, this amount was turned over to Ira and the children.. The body was laid to rest in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. -C.M. Sooter
