    3. Finally found the husband of my Lucy Viola Snelling that I posted a query on some time back: Lucy Viola Snelling d/o Charles Brody Snelling & Henrietta Loutisha White bn: 2 May 1881 Miller Co, MO died: 30 may 1965 Md:  04 Feb 1914 in Cole Co, MO  (both of Miller County) Louis Letheldred Buckner bn: 26 Jan 1880 MO died: 07 Jun 1945 Phoenix, Maricopa Co, AZ Buried: Greenwood Cemetery, Phoenix, Maricopa Co, Arizonia *His first wife was Francis Lenora (Nora) Kehr  who died young on 19 nov 1913 Miller Co, MO & is buried at the Tol Wood Cemetery in Miller County.* As it usually goes with the research of this Snelling family group......one question is answered and another appears. On her father's OBIT of 26 Aug 1926 there is a Mrs. Stone or Stoner listed as one of the living children and I thought it might be Lucy Viola.  But she was Mrs Buckner by 1914; so not her.  Since the other daughters of Charles Brody Snelling were all married before his 1926 OBIT and still with their same husbands for the 1930 census; the question remains of who was Mrs. Stone/Stoner?  The married Buckner daughter is NOT mentioned in his OBIT even thou they are living in Camden Co, Mo for the 1920 census & Morgan Co, Mo for the 1930 census.  Mrs Viola Buckner of Phoenix, AZ is listed on her brother's 1940 OBIT. Is there another daughter I dont have listed or was this just an error on the Newspapers part? Any ideas? Marsha

    3. The Obit for Charles Brody Snelling ......I was the one that finally found the OBIT & posted it on this site.  At the time I also asked if anyone might know who the daughter Mrs. Stone/Stoner mentioned might be and since Lucy Viola was the only daughter left, it was suggested by someone that she must be the Mrs. Stone/Stoner.  I have since found that Lucy Viola Snelling married Louis L. Buckner in 1914 & thought I should send over this info to clarify.  Because I had an exact date of birth & death for Lucy Viola Snelling on my old chart, I knew I had to have found it somewhere.  I went back to my old Snelling paper file and started digging thru.  Found an 1989 Family Group Chart from a David Buckner and realized that was where I had gotten my original dates for her. David Buckner (grandson of Lucy Viola) also had the names/dates of her parents listed & her siblings.  Also listed from another Buckner descendant are the dates for Louis Letheldred Buckner and the burial info and also the dates for Lucy Viola Snelling. Then I found their Missouri marriage record in 1914; even thou they had indexed her surname incorrectly on the listing. L. L. & Viola Buckner ..1920 MO, Camden Co, Osage L. L. & Lucy V. Buckner...1930 MO, Morgan Co, Osage....Lucy is 49 married @32. Mrs Viola Buckner of Phoenix, AZ is listed on Charles Thomas Snelling OBIT, her brother. And then I found this: Wilma Turley, was born 3 May 1923, in Woodruff, Navajo, Arizona. She was married 30 January 1939, to James Lewis Buckner, who was born 20 May 1915, in Wayham or Eldon, Miller, Missouri, a son of Louis L. Buckner and Lucy Viola Snelling. Source:The Genealogy of the Descendants of GEORGE WASHINGTON SEVEY Printed by Robert L. Pellett Medford, Oregon 1965, Compiled by MINERVA SEVEY VANCE and EILEEN SEVEY CLUFF Based on all the above; looks like she is not the daughter, Mrs. Stone/Stoner, mentioned in the 1926 OBIT of Charles Brody Snelling. Errors did happen in newspapers or maybe Mrs Stone was not a daughter but related to Charles Brody Snelling in another way. Just thought others working on this Snelling family group might like this info also.
