Wasn't there a hospital in Tuscumbia which is very near Ulman. I was born in Humphrey's hospital in 1955. Dr. Marshall Humphreys and his brother Dr. Stanley were real assets to the area. Dr. Marshall's untimely death in an automobile accident while vacationing in the south (Alabama?) was quite a shock and dealt a blow to the hospital. By then his son in law Dr. Howard was practicing there also, but it was no too long before the hospital became a clinic. The clinic was in operation yet in 1996 when my mother passed away there of a massive heart attack.
