Rolla New Era, April 1933 Benjamin Hugh Cross was born Aug 10, 1873, in Miller County, Mo. and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lacy Brookshire, Saturday, April 15. He was married to Rosa Thompson Aug. 12, 1892. To this union were born seven children; three sons, Everett of San Francisco, Roy and Fred of Rolla, Mo., and four daughters, Mrs. Walter Rugg of Dixon, Mo., Mrs. Alice Marlow of Rolla, Mrs. Delpha Brookshire of Beulah, and Stella, who preceded him in death March 5, 1927. The high esteem in which he was held by his many friends was shown by the large crowd that came to pay their last respect to him whose friendship they had treasured. He was buried in the Beulah Cemetery Easter Sunday, funeral services being conducted by Elder W.L. Bradford of Rolla.
