Unknown Publication, January 1969 Joe Lee Bond, 65, a well known carpenter, farmer and stockman in the Iberia community, died Sunday evening, Jan. 5, 1969, at Charles E. Still Hospital, Jefferson City, where he had been a patient. He previously had undergone surgery, and had been in and out of the hospital the past month. Mr. Bond was born in Miller County near Iberia on March 18, 1903, the son of the late Louis Allen and Martha Blize Bond. He was married Aug. 22, 1922, at Tuscumbia to Miss Grace Wall who survives at the home north of Iberia. He spent his lifetime in the Iberia area with the exception of two years, 1938-40, when he was in the state of California. Mr. Bond was a member of the Fairview Christian Church and a former member of the Modern Woodmen of America. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Steen of Iberia, Mrs. Beryl Miller of Tuscumbia, and Mrs. Iva Lee Hancock of Roby; nine grandchildren; one great-grandsons; three brothers, Charles, John and Jesse Bond, all of Iberia; and two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Law of Eldon and Mrs. Nettie Hensley of Ulman. His parents, three brothers (only 2 listed), Perry and George Bond; and three sisters, Miss Molly Bond, Mrs. Della Waite and Mrs. Jennie Law, preceded him in death. Funeral services for Mr. Bond were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Christian Church with the Rev. Mark Sooter officiating. Interment was in the Livingston Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were Roger Bond, George Allen Bond, Bobbie Bond, Wade Hensley, Wayne Hensley, Jasper Hensley, Bob Law and Stanley Haus.
