Friday, December 5, 2003 STEEN Paul Newton Steen, age 78 of Iberia, died December 4, 2003, at his home. He was born in Iberia on February 14, 1925, a son of the late Frank and Ella (Wall) Steen. On November 29, 1946, in Hardy, Arkansas, he was married to Lucille Robertson, who survives at the home. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving as a Pharmacist's Mate Third Class. He founded the Iberia Lumber Company in 1958 and also farmed in the Iberia community. He was a former Miller County Collector. He was a member of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and the Iberia American Legion Post 105. He was also a member of the Iberia First Christian Church. Other survivors include: three sons, Thomas D. Steen, Michael L. Steen, and Rodney G. Steen all of Iberia; one daughter, Paula Riemensnider of Iberia; two sisters, Icie Evacko of Iberia and Virgie Smith of Portland, Oregon; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Four brothers preceded him in death. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, December 5, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Iberia First Christian Church with Bro. Stan Way officiating. Interment will be in Iberia Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Iberia First Christian Church Building Fund.
