Unknown Publication, June 1971 Mrs. Stella Humphrey, 90, of Iberia, died Sunday, June 13, 1971, at her home in Iberia. Mrs. Humphrey was born Aug. 30, 1880 in Maries County, the daughter of Rufus and Emiliza (Gibson) Crismon. She was married Aug. 6, 1902 in Iberia to Walter W. Humphrey by Dr. Sooter. Mrs. Humphrey spent the first part of her married life in Brays, and later in Tavern where she reared her family. Previous to the Humphreys' move to Iberia in 1957, they made their home in Vienna for 16 years. Mrs. Humphrey was a longtime member of the Christian Church at Wheeler. She was baptized at Camp Ground Christian Church by Menzo Sooter and Nettie Sooter. Mrs. Humphrey was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in Feb. 19, 1961 and 4 sons, Rockford M. on June 24, 1967, Rufus G. on Nov. 29, 1962, William R. on March 9, 1969 and Raymond C. on March 24, 1926; also two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Morrow and Mrs. Maude Jones; one brother, Hosea Crismon; and two great-grandsons Gregory Duane Humphrey on Sept. 2, 1966 and one in infancy. Survivors include: two sons, Wayne of Iberia and Guy of Fresno, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Dale Graham of Kirkwood, Mrs. Irene Richardson of El Cajon, Calif., Mrs. Emogene Herrmann of Berkley, and Mrs. Fay Bremer of Jefferson City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Stevinson Chapel Hwy. 17, N. Iberia, with the Rev. Mark Sooter and the Rev. Aldon Veach officiating. Interment was in the Union Cemetery near Iberia. Pallbearers were Rockford Humphrey, Jr., Ronnie W. Humphrey, Joe Humphrey, J.W. Humphrey, Bill Humphrey, Mike Brumley.
