Unknown Publication, June 1970 Fred Leroy Helton, 81, Iberia, died Sunday, June 7, 1970, at the Pulaski County Memorial Hospital in Waynesville. Mr. Helton, a farmer, had lived on the same farm in the Brays community near Iberia for 75 years. He was born July 3, 1888, in Maries County near Dixon, the son of Isaac and Mary (Pankey) Helton. On Oct. 11, 1906, he was married to Mary Francis Fritchey who survives. He had moved to the Iberia area at the age of 6 years, and remained on the same farm for the remainder of his life. Mr. Helton became a member of the Church of Christ in 1932, and was baptized by Bro. W. F. Jones. Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons, Clyde and Everett Helton of Iberia, Guy Helton of Crocker, and Wroe Helton of Waynesville; one daughter, Mrs. Zella Humphrey of Iberia; one brother, Charles C. Helton of Lonedell; 19 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Helton were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mt. Gilead Union Church near Iberia with the Rev. Earl Jones officiating. Burial was in the Pankey Cemetery near Iberia under the direction of Stevinson Funeral Home of Iberia. Pallbearers were Don Whittle, Virgil and Carl Helton, Gene Fritchey, Charles Pendleton and Vasca Humphrey.
