Unknown Publication, September 1972 Mrs. Flossie Cleasby Newhart, 76, of Iberia, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 1972, at her home. Mrs. Newhart was born Aug. 30, 1896 in Miller County near Brays the daughter of William and Fannie (Grady) Humphrey. She was married Nov. 6, 1913, at Brays Advent Christian Church by the Rev. George De Beet, to Mont Newhart, who survives. Mrs. Newhart lived in and around Iberia all of her life. She worked for a short time in the Service Club in Fort Leonard Wood and was a telephone operator around 14 years until her retirement in 1960. Mrs. Newhart had been a member of the Brays Advent Christian Church since age 12, also of the Brays Helpers Union Club and the Iberia WPFA. Surviving, other than her husband, Mont, are: two sons, Minor Newhart of Iberia and Irland Newhart of Springfield; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Buenger of Granite City, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Susie Groves of Iberia; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at __ p.m. Monday at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia with the Rev. Aldon Veach and the Rev. Gary Gulley officiating. Interment was in the Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Siegal Humphrey, Tommy Humphrey, Paul Healy, Byron Humphrey, Lloyd Humphrey and Harry Atwell.
