    3. Unknown Publication, April 1973 Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Iberia for Mrs. Nora S. Roark, a former Miller Countian who had lived in Palacios, Tex. since the spring of 1970. Mrs. Roark, 70, died Thursday, April 5, 1973, at the Wagner General Hospital in Palacios. She was the widow of Everett Roark who died April 24, 1967. She was born July 10, 1902, near Iberia, the daughter of the late Richard M. and Mary Lea Pankey. She and Mr. Roark were married May 8, 1919, in Iberia in a ceremony performed by Squire Ferguson. Mr. and Mrs. Roark owned and operated cafes and restaurants in Waynesville, Iberia and Eldon. She also worked at the Fort Leonard Wood post exchange in the 1940's. Mrs. Roark, a former resident of Iberia and Eureka, lived in Eldon from 1947 until going to Texas three years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Palacios and a former member of the Ninth Street Christian Church in Eldon. Mrs. Roark is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Wallace of Palacios, Mrs. Bonnie Hudson of Lexington, Ky., and Mrs. Carolyn Fenton of Fort Richardson, Alaska; two sons, Richard Roark of Eldon and Ralph Roark of Marshfield; one brother, Roy Pankey of Iberia; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Bandelier of Jefferson City, Mrs. Electa Ponder of Iberia and Mrs. Emma Campbell of Bland; 16 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Roy Weece of Columbia, formerly of Eldon, was the officiating minister at the services at 3 p.m. Monday at Stevinson Chapel in Iberia. Burial was in the Iberia Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Roark, Bob Roark, Richard Roark, Jr., Don Wallace, David Wallace, and Frank Carter.
