    3. Unknown Publication, January 1972 Laymon Brumble, 66, of near Meta, died Saturday, Jan 15, 1972 at Memorial Hospital in Jefferson City. Mr. Brumble was born Nov. 27, 1905 in Maries County near Meta, the son of Ray and Eliza (Berry) Brumble. He was married Feb. 28, 1932 in Dixon by Rev. Edmund Bauer, to Margaret Hollis who survives. Mr. Brumble spent all of his life near his home place in Maries County where he farmed. He had also been a carpenter at Fort Leonard Wood for several years. Mr. Brumble was a member of the Wheeler Christian Church and a trustee of the church since 1944. Surviving other than his wife, Margaret, are one daughter, Mrs. Jane Heyer of Meta; one nephew who was raised by Laymon, Milton Brumble; one brother, Leslie Brumble of Rolla; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Messersmith of Dixon and Mrs. Ada Krone of Marshall; two granddaughters, Marilyn Helton of Meta, and Judy Shepherd of Rolla; one great-granddaughter, Monica Shepherd of Rolla; several nieces and nephews, and two step-grandsons. Mr. Brumble was preceded in death by one sister, Pearl Brumble. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Stevinson Chapel in Iberia, with the Rev. Earl Brown, the Rev. Mark Sooter and the Rev. Gilbert Shoemaker officiating. Interment was in the Wheeler Cemetery near Meta. Pallbearers were Myrl Lawson, Winston Lawson, Loyd Conner, Phil Brune, Theron Ellis and Oscar Hayes.
