Unknown Publication, May 2004 A funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004, in Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Vancouver for Vergie Smith, who died May 10 at age 95. Vergie Steen was born March 31, 1909, in Iberia, Mo. She lived in Camas, Wash., before moving in about 1989 to Portland. She had worked for Crown Zellerbach. In 1930, she married John W.; he died in 1989. Survivors include her son, Lindell; daughters, Lorraine Nehl; sister, Icie Evacko; and nine grandchildren. Remembrance to Kaiser Hospice.
