    3. Jefferson City News Tribune, July 1989 Frederick V. "Val" Kallenbach, 92, of Mexico, Mo., died Thursday, June 8, 1989 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico. He was born Aug 5, 1896 in Tuscumbia to William and Cora Bell Thompson Kallenbach. On June 27, 1924 he was married to Marcia Alma Thompson, who died Oct. 15, 1965. On June 1969 he was married in Eldon to Lettie Holloway Jenkins, who died July 5, 1986. Mr. Kallenbach worked for Anchor Milling in Tuscumbia and Eugene for more than 20 years. He was a lumber salesman for several years in Kansas City for Lloyd St. Claire Lumber Company and during the mid-1940s he served as the Cole County collector. He farmed in Miller County for many years. He was a Navy veteran of World War I and was a former Post commander for Eldon VFW Post 2442. He was a member of the Oak Street Church of Christ in Eldon. Surviving him are three sons, John Ray Kallenbach of Ashland, VA., Roger Kallenbach of Cameron and Warren Kallenbach of Palo Alto, Calif.; four brothers, Forrest Kallenbach of Doniphan, Royal Kallenbach of Eldon, Harry Kallenbach of Raymore and Dr. G.P. Kallenbach of Mexico, Mo.; five sisters, Ethel Kallenbach of Etterville, Gola Lee Curtis of Sedalia, Dean Steenbergen of Jefferson City, Cora Wolverton of Kansas City and Kathleen Blankenship of Burbank, Calif.; five step-sons, John D. Jenkins of Garden Grove, Calif., Andrew Jenkins of Henley, Clyde Lee Jenkins of Tuscumbia, Dr. Tennyson Jenkins of Garden Grove, Calif. and James C. Jenkins of Eugene; a step-daughter, Lula Fishburn of Haven, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon with Bro. Jim Medlock officiating. Burial was in the Tuscumbia Cemetery.
