Unknown Publication, about 1981 Mrs. Dixie Thomson Kallenbach, 91, of 117 N. Polk St., died about 9:30 p.m. Christmas Eve at St. Mary's Hospital. Mrs. Kallenbach had been a patient at the hospital since Dec. 7. She was born Oct. 13, 1878, at Benton Ark., to the late Maj. D.F. and Catherine Melton Thomson. She attended grade schools in Hot Springs, Ark., and the Teachers Academy, Linn Creek and the Tuscumbia Schools. Mrs. Kallenbach was an active member of the First Christian Church for more than 50 years, a member of the Elizabeth Circle of that church and served as president of the Ruth Circle. Mrs. Kallenbach had also been active in civic affairs here where she served more than 10 years as committeewoman of the Third Precinct of the First Ward, registrar of the precinct and member of the Democratic Club for many years. She was also a past president of the PTA of the Old Fairview School. Mrs. Kallenbach was married March 13, 1898, at Tuscumbia, to John Milton Kallenbach, who preceded her in death Dec. 17, 1959. Mrs. Kallenbach is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Charles R. (Allene) Watson and Miss Anne E. Kallenbach, Community Visiting Nurse, both of the home, Mrs. J. George (Eleanor) Robinson, 1401 Dixon Dr., Ms. George T. Kathryn) Elkins, Harrison, Ark.; three sons, Daniel F. Kallenbach, Columbia, Tom Kallenbach, Houston, Tex., Henry Kallenbach, Los Angeles, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. One of Mrs. Kallenbach's grandsons, Evangelist George T. Elkins, Jr., was pastor of the Church of Christ of Jefferson City for a number of years. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church by the Rev. Roy Griggs. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery (Jefferson City). Friends that wish to do so may contribute to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund. The Buescher Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
