The Iberia Sentinel, January 1936 Sarah Golden entered into peaceful sleep at her home near St. Anthony Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 22nd, 1936, at the age of 76 years, 2 months, and 29 days. In the year 1876, she was married to George Golden and to their marriage the following children were born: Everett Golden who died February 22, 1917; William E. Golden and a son who died in infancy, and one daughter, Lilly. She made her home for the past several years with her son, William, and daughter, Lilly, since her husband passed away in the year 1901. She leaves to cherish her memory, besides the son and daughter, two brothers, Joseph and Eck Barr, and one sister, Mrs. Alice Burks, all of Iberia, Missouri; also five grandchildren, Mrs. Grace Greathouse and Edna, Herman, Willie and Elmer Golden. She united with the Hickory Point Baptist Church about 20 years ago in which church she kept her membership on to the end. She lived her entire life in the community where she died and her going is a great loss to this community. She lived a quiet, sweet life, loved and respected by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. A good woman, a kind and loving mother gone to the Home prepared for those who put their trust in God. Funeral services were held at the Golden home Friday, January 24th. Burial in Hicks Cemetery near St. Anthony. S.L. Casey, Iberia funeral director had charge of the services.
