    3. The Iberia Sentinel, November 1934 Mrs. Johnta Keeth, of the community west of Iberia, was gored by an infuriated cow last Saturday morning when she went to the barn to milk. In attempting to separate the mother cow from her young calf, the cow became enraged and began to hook Mrs. Keeth, inflicting with her horns serious injuries about the face, leg and breast. She received two ugly lacerations on the cheek and forehead and another one on her leg. But the most alarming injury was serious bruises about the breast caused by the maddened animal pushing and rolling her on the ground after she was knocked down. For some time Mrs. Keeth's condition was intensely alarming and her husband, who was visiting in Oklahoma, was at once called home as well as her children who lived at a distance. Dr. F.C. Suggett, the attending physician, reported Mrs. Keeth somewhat improved Wednesday morning and thinks she will recover if no further complications set up. Mrs. Johntie Keeth (nee Louisa Ellen Stone) of near Iberia, who was gored by an infuriated cow on Saturday morning of November 10th, died of the injuries sustained last Saturday evening about 6 o'clock. For awhile it was thought the injuries would not prove fatal, but complications set up which made her recovery beyond the reach of medical skill. Mrs. Keeth was a daughter of the late Julius Stone, a well known resident of south Miller County. She was near 72 years of age at the time of her death. She was married to Johntie Keeth many years ago and to this union six children were born, namely: Julius and Everett Keeth of near Iberia, Mrs. Flora Sturdavant of Tulsa, Okla., Wilbert Keeth of Crocker and Mrs. Cora Irwin of Rolla who survive her, one child having died in early life. She is also survived by her husband. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Virgil Smith of Brumley, were held from the Oak View Christian Church Saturday afternoon, at 3 o'clock, after which the body was conveyed to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery nearby for burial, under direction of Adams & Casey, local undertakers. Mrs. Keeth was a Christian woman and her passing will deprive the community of one of its most noble women.
