Obit., mid-Missouri newspaper, July 1977: William "Bill" Struemph, 78, of St. Elizabeth, died early Saturday, July 25, 1977 at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City where he had been a patient since July 6. Mr. Struemph was born Nov. 8, 1898 near St. Elizabeth, the son of John and Mary (Swartz) Struemph. He was married on Sept. 22, 1927 at folk to Martha Koehne, who survives of the home. Mr. Struemph was a farmer until his retirement in 1966. He had also been a meter reader for St. Elizabeth city water system. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic church in St. Elizabeth and the Holy Name Society of the church and was a former school board member, a former church board member and past president of St. Elizabeth Mutual Insurance Company. Surviving other than his wife, Martha, are five daughters, Mary Ann Clevenger of Raytown, Ludmilla Kliethermes and Odellia Struemph, both of St. Elizabeth, Margie Johnson of Kansas City, and Virginia Beach of Hamilton; two sons, John Struemph of Jefferson City and Francis L. Struemph of St. Elizabeth; one sister, Mrs. Emma Pierce of Portland, Oreg. and 24 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at the St. Lawrence Catholic church. Interment was in the St. Lawrence Cemetery. Pallbearers were Donald Kliethermes, David Kliethermes, Roger Kliethermes, Mike Kliethermes, Gary Clevenger and Robert Beach."
