The Iberia Sentinel, February 1937 Miss Ruth Irene Hicks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hicks of near St. Anthony, died February 22nd, 1937 of pneumonia fever. She was born July 21, 1921, and at the time of her death she was 15 years, 7 months and 1 day old. She had been an invalid all of her life. She leaves to mourn her passing, besides her mother and father, one brother and one sister, two grandmothers, and a host of relatives and friends. One sister, Alice, preceded her in death. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday by Rev. C.W. Sooter at the home and burial was made in the Hicks Cemetery under the direction of Adams and Casey.
