    1. Re: [MOMILLER] Addie Wall or Spotswood

    3. At the 1930 Census both Earl and Clara were given the same ages; 2 years 5 months. Their surname was written (and indexed by Ancestry) as Spotwod. The family was living in one room, rented at $13 a month, at 2010 14th Street, St Louis City, Mo. Addie Spotswod was 27 and was 19 at her first marriage (i.e. about 1922); son Charles was 6; Betty was 4 years 10 months; Earl and Clara were both 2 years and 5 months. At the 1930 Census for Richwoods, Miller Co Mo; Everett W Wall 34 divorced, first married at 21 was working as a stock farm laborer for his father, and living with his parents, Peachy and Mary J Wall. At 1920 Census for Richwoods, Miller Co Mo; Everett Wall 24; wife Lucy 25; Jenette 4 y 6 mo; Louisa 3 y 2 mo. Everett was living next to his father Peachy Wall. At 1920 Census for Tavern, Pulaski Co Mo; Addie Prater 16 was working as a laborer for her parents Eastern & Roxey Prater. In 1910 Census for Tavern, Addie Prater was 7; her parents were Easton A and Roxie. On his WW1 Draft Registration card dated 1917, William Everett Wall 22, a self employed farmer, claimed exemption from the draft on the grounds that he had a wife and two children dependent on him. Just before he signed the form, he acknowledged that his claim was untrue. Trying to make sense of this retraction is difficult. From later census evidence, it would appear that he married Lucy when he was 21, i.e. about 1916, and that by 1917 his second daughter Louisa was either newly born or on her way. By 1930 Everett Wall was divorced from Lucy. Addie in 1930 was still a Spotswood with 4 kids but no husband on the scene. By 1938/1939 she was Addie Wall enrolling at Curry School her two youngest, Earl and Clara Mae, both born Oct 24 1927 (which agrees with their ages at 1930 census). So we now need a marriage date between 1930 and 1939 between Everett Wall and Addie Spotswood. Any offers?
