Is the John Carlton that you mention the husband of Malinda and father of Peter J Carlton? Peter J. Carlton married Mary Catherine Phillips who was one of the daughters of my ggg grandfather, John a. Phillips. I can find no final record of Mary Catherine or her son Harvey. I know that she was alive in 1883 when John Phillips will was written . He died in 1896. If you have any info on these Carltons I would appreciate it.
