Obituary: Jefferson City News Tribune, Sunday, March 3, 2002 Martha Elizabeth Taggart, 88, Jefferson City, died Feb. 28, 2002 at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born Jan. 7, 1914, in St. Anthony, a daughter of Henry and Mary Elizabeth Heuer Borgmeyer. She was married July 7, 1936, in St. Elizabeth, to Albert Conrad Kemna, who preceded her in death. She was married June 5, 1968, in Versailles to Charles W. Taggart, who died Dec. 10, 1983. A homemaker, she attended St. Anthony Schools. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Ann's Sodality of the church. She worked at International Shoe Factory and at Chesebrough-Ponds until her retirement. Survivors include: one son, David Adolph Kemna, Springfield; two daughters, Melinda Marie Barnard, New Bloomfield, and Sharon Kan Mallicoat, Jefferson City; two stepchildren, Nancy Ferris, Lee's Summit, and Eddie Taggart, Prairie Home; nine grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Private family services will be at 2 p.m. today at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Robert Kraus will officiate. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Marion. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Facility Activities Department or the New Hope Cemetery Fund.
