ARTZ DIES IN STATE OF OKLAHOMA Mary Artz of Tuscumbia and Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Vernon of Eldon went to Dewey, Oklahoma on Dec. 26 to attend the funeral of John W. Artz, 79, oldest brother of Miss Artz and Mrs. Venon. Mr. Artz was born Jan. 28, 1879, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John P. Artz, on a farm near Tuscumbia. He was a Miller County resident for many years but had lived in Oklahoma for about the last 30 years. He had been in poor health for several years. He is survived by his wife, formerly Opal Vernon, and eight children. Other survivors include four sisters, Mary Artz, Tuscumbia; Mrs. Anna Vernon, Eldon, Mrs. Della Haun, Newton, Kansas; and Mrs. Emma Summers, Eldon; and two brothers, Ed Artz of St. Louis and Milton Artz of Kansas City. Burial was at Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
