Obituary: Jefferson City News Tribune, June 1986 John Raymond "Red" Gardner, 64, Iberia, died Tuesday at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital, Columbia. He was born Jan. 4, 1922, at Ibe-ria, the son of Fred and Emma Doubikin Gardner. On Dec. 25, 1941, he was married at Iberia to Wanda B. Wilson, who survives at the home. Mr. Gardner was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1942 , to 1945. He was a member of the Brays Advent Christian Church and served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent for the past 20 years. He worked for Hedges Funeral Home and Hard-ware, Iberia, for about 10 years and then worked for Eads Motor Company for 35 years until his re-tirement in 1984. He was a mem-ber of the Masonic Lodge 410, Order of the Eastern Star 537, and American Legion, all of Iberia. Other survivors include: one daughter, Judy Howk, Iberia; one granddaughter and two grand-sons. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Brays Ad-vent Christian Church, near Ibe-ria, with the Rev. Earl Skidds and the Rev. Haskell Orrick offic1at-ing. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery, near Iberia. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. to-day at the Stevinson Mossman Funeral Home, Iberia.
